A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two 2 part time Student Counsellors at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. You will be the main point of contact for students seeking support with their mental health, general well-being, and those seeking counselling. The aim is to ensure the emotional and psychological well-being of students across our headquarters in Liverpool and our overseas hubs to support student progression and academic success. Between the 2 posts an understanding of global mental health and experience of providing virtual support are key.

Working within boundaries of GDPR and safeguarding, you will work with students to help them continue with their education, embed wellbeing and mental health resilience into the student experience and actively publicise support and welfare services to all students and staff.

**Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Work on a one to one or group basis, with students who are potentially vulnerable or experiencing mental health and well-being difficulties across all of our campuses (mainly UK, Malawi, Kenya)
- Actively lead on welfare, health and well-being information and advice
- Implement new approaches or preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence of problems
- Ensure appropriate training and information is provided on student mental health and well-being to LSTM colleagues involved in Education and student support, across the partnership network
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of counselling sessions and ensure compliance with professional standards and GDPR legislation
- Actively participate in external and internal networks to build, develop and maintain best practice
