**Overview**:
We are recruiting a **Community Board Officer** to provide support to the Community Boards team in the delivery and operations of the Boards. The post holder will work alongside the Community Board Managers to ensure the Boards function effectively and deliver their agreed priorities.

This is a secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity until the end of January 2024.

**About us**:
The 16 Community Boards are the local face of the Council, working with partners, communities and organisations to improve and develop their local area through engagement, facilitation and partnership working, but also through funding projects. Each Community Board has a budget to fund local projects which meets the Council’s and local Board priorities.

**About the role**:
You will work with the Community Board Managers providing support to them to deliver their Board priorities. You will be required to attend meetings or events across the county, engage with residents and partners to encourage participation with the Boards, and help facilitate meetings to bring people and organisations together to deliver the priorities.

You will also provide support to the Community Board management team which may include researching and collating information, producing presentations and drafting reports and arranging meetings.

Other duties include raising purchase orders and processing invoices, providing cover for the funding team including writing recommendation reports. There will also be opportunities to undertake and deliver projects and events.

The role is part of the funding & support team, which has two other team members. You will receive support in terms of your personal development to reach your full potential, and as a service we are keen to offer additional skills and experiences available within the team.

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.

**About you**:
Ideally you will have knowledge/ experience of the Community Boards, their aims and objectives and how priorities can be delivered.

You will need to be an experienced note taker, be accurate both in terms of written text and also financial information. You will also need to be able to operate spreadsheets to a good standard and maintain their accuracy and integrity.

You will have good communication skills and be able to communicate and engage with a wide audience including residents, Members, senior officers, partners and organisations across the County.

You will need to be able to work accurately at pace and be able to adjust to changing work demands.

The whole team works flexibly with two days in the office (one of the days is a Monday).
