Due to our continued focus on excellent customer service delivery, Mr Fothergill’s is pleased to add two new Merchandiser positions to our existing Field Sales Team structure.

These positions are offered on a casual contract basis, and as such will be ideally suited to those who are looking for flexibility in their working schedule.

As a Merchandiser you will be the local face of Mr Fothergill’s, ensuring our customers' displays are first class and of the highest standard. You will be working on an ad hoc basis, as and when required to help support our Territory Managers, who will be your main points of contact.

Although not a prerequisite for this role as training will be provided, customer facing horticultural experience i.e. garden centre work or merchandiser experience will be preferred.

We believe that gardening provides not only a good-looking lawn but a therapeutic exercise for the mind and body of all ages. Our products are sold through garden centres and leading national retailer groups such as Homebase, Notcutts, and Blue Diamond.

**The Opportunities**

We are currently looking for 3 Merchandisers to join our fantastic Field Sales team Both roles are offered on a casual basis and will cover different geographical areas.

The nature of our work is seasonal, and although not guaranteed, on average you may be offered 2 days of work per week during peak periods. Our busiest times of the year typically include; mid December until the end of May, and mid July until the end of September. It is preferred that merchandiser work on offer is completed at the beginning of the week, to ensure stock availability is aligned with consumer demands.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Assisting the Territory Managers in servicing an existing account base by visiting the retailers we supply with our products. Existing customers will include a mixture of independent retailers and key account retailers.
- Service calls to accounts during the spring (top up season). This entails tidying the stands and putting out any new stock, which has been delivered since the last call. You may then need to take an order for any lines which are out-of-stock or getting low. The goods are delivered direct to the customer; we do not require you to carry any car stock or goods of commercial value.
- Setting up new seed displays at the beginning of each season. This may require you to assemble the display stands (instructions provided), placing the seeds on the stand according to a planogram, and positioning any point-of-sale material, which may be required.
- Uplifting seed displays at the end of each season. This could involve counting the seeds, recording them on a form provided for the purpose, and packing them up ready for collection by a carrier. The stands may also need to be dismantled or disposed of, though often they are either stored or used again immediately to hold a new display. Full instructions will be given along with store listings at the start of setups/top ups and uplifts.

**What You’ll Need to Bring**

**Essential**
- A reliable and conscientious work ethic and excellent customer service skills.
- Flexibility around working times and notably during peak seasonal periods when working time is likely to be offered.
- The initiative and ability to work on your own.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to travel within the region.
- Good time management skills with an ability to effectively prioritise calls to ensure that customer call requirements are met.
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
- Respect for others and cultural viewpoints and perspectives.
- Current clean UK driver's license.

**Desirable**
- Relevant experience in a similar position across the FMCG Sales Sector.
