We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team at Stroud Brewery. This is a full-time role that offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing company in the heart of the Stroud community.

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Business Finance Partner (BFP).

Your responsibilities will include:
**Finance**
- Enter purchase ledger invoices on Xero
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Raise supplier payments for BFP/MD
- Bank, direct debit and credit card reconciliations
- Paypal, Shopify and Stripe payment reconciliations
- Till refloating and banking
- Prepare weekly market float and any event floats as required
- Petty cash transactions
- Raise repeating event invoices in conjunction with Events Manager
- Liaise with the sales team on overdue accounts
- Send statements (mid and end of month)
- Credit control to litigation
- Ensure VAT coding complies to HMRC guidelines
- Payroll
- Archiving

**Administration**
- Ad hoc analysis reports for senior management
- Procurement of stationery, packaging and sundry purchases etc

**Other tasks as required**: Due to the changing nature of work practises, or for operational, commercial or technical reasons, it is accepted that the company reserves the right to make changes to individual job descriptions as necessary

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Previous demonstrable accounting experience
- Accounting software experience
- Understanding of VAT
- Intermediate user of Excel or Google spreadsheets
- Previous demonstrable office administration experience
- Proactive in developing administrative procedures
- Reliable, trustworthy, confidential
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident with spreadsheets
- Aptitude for learning
- Happy to embrace change and work as part of a team

**Desirable**
- Xero accounting software experience
- Demonstrable Payroll experience
- Share Stroud Brewery ethos for sustainability
- An interest in real ales and their production

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Competitive salary based on experience
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- On site parking, lunch and beer allowances
