**About The Role**:
A great opportunity has become available for a Finance Assistant to join the Finance Team in our Leeds based office. The Team have a very flexible way of working. You will be based in the office for the first few months of training, this will then switch to hybrid where you will be working remotely from home and in the office a couple of times a week.

This role would be ideal for someone with great admin and analytical skills.

As Finance Assistant for the HomeServe Installations business area, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance team to deliver robust commercial analysis that truly improves performance of the business unit. You will report to the FP&A Manager and support the Finance Business Partner and the Financial Reporting and Control team in the production of the month end results by ensuring that forecast variances are understood and make recommendations for improvements to drive the unit forward.
- You will be able to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with the Commercial Finance Team to support them regarding analysis and clarity over the numbers, presenting to them opportunities to improve the business performance further from the use of insight and MI tools
- To ensure that the weekly reporting for HVAC is validated and checked prior to distribution
- Work with the FP&A Manager assisting with making sure overhead costs are tightly controlled and that these costs are properly being managed
- Support in month end duties including production of job costings, reconciliation of material spend, ensuring travel expenses are correctly charged between HSI & HML and reviewing IT spend to ensure expected costs are correctly accounted for
- Prepare IT and Marketing Variance Reports post-month end
- Assisting of AR Reconciliations, including credit balances and month end procedures working closely with Internal Operations, Repairs & AR
- Liaise with the internal stakeholders (HSI & HML) and provide support to all stakeholders and work as part of the team to ensure reporting, financial processes and financial accounting are performed to a high standard
- Provide effective commercial guidance and analysis support
- Understand current processes, streamline, simplify and improve to add value
- Understand monthly performance and provide appropriate updates to share this
- Support the FP&A Manager to maintain management information, scorecards, reports and KPIs to help management understand and measure performance
- Contractor Invoicing (Monitor invoices to ensure the correct rates are charged and deal with any contractor concerns regarding payment queries
- Rebates (Support in making sure records are maintained and claims are accurate, providing support to the Internal Operations Team where needed)
- BER Costings (Process BER costings and check rates claimed are accurate)
- Ad hoc analysis as required.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
**Essential**
- Strong academic background
- A confident professional who is able to influence and guide
- Highly numerate with a passion for using financial tools and processes to assist in driving performance
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and can demonstrate bringing things to a resolution

**Desirable**
- Studying for a recognised accounting qualification ie CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT
- Experience of providing commercial analysis to operational functions
- FP&A experience
- Financial services experience
- Understanding of large company systems and processes
- Knowledge of Google Suite (Doc, Slides, Sheets and other as required)
- Previous Finance experience would be advantageous - partnering, planning, forecasting, modelling, and analysis
