What will I be doing as a Technical Manager - Biological Systems?

As a Technical Manager - Biological Systems, you will be responsible for providing design services, technical & engineering support, and guidance to the business in the area of resource planning, new technologies and innovations, systems solutions & management,and audit control measurements to evaluate performance. Your role will also involve assisting in the design, development, and commissioning of new facilities with the Technical Director, senior key stakeholders, and department heads as required.

Key responsibilities:
Anaerobic Digestion

Support technical and construction teams in managing AD projects.
Work with existing AD Operations teams to develop standard operating procedures that can be implemented on future AD facilities.
Identify and conduct due diligence reviews of potential technology providers.
Work with selected providers to assess and review FEED and then Detailed Design Studies for future AD Facilities.
Act as Commissioning Manager for future AD Facilities as required.
Conduct due diligence assessments of any potential existing AD Facilities for acquisition.
Develop asset management plans and strategies to manage the assets across their entire lifecycle.
Ensure all regulatory, contractual, and internal SUEZ requirements are applied and adhered to at all times.
Leachate

Support the Landfill Operational Team in optimizing existing Leachate data collection with a view of identifying performance issues and technology gaps.
Develop KPIs for Leachate.
Develop Employer's Requirements for Leachate treatment upgrade projects.
Identify and conduct due diligence reviews of potential technology providers.
Project manage the procurement, installation, and commissioning of upgrade projects as required.
Develop management systems for reporting on Normal Operating Conditions (NOC’s), Process Control, and Digestate Management.
Work collaboratively with SUEZ asset management team to develop asset strategies to maintain sustainable performance over the plants' lifecycle.
Other areas of responsibility:
Work with Plant and Regional Managers on managing/assisting with projects as required on all matters biological, such as wood and alternative fuels, In Vessel Composting, Open Air Windrow Composting, and any other projects or routine tasks as required bythe Technical Director Operations.

Develop data visualization standards for use across Processing and Landfill but in line with group EfW reporting standards.

What are the requirements?

An engineer or scientist (mechanical / electrical / chemical / biology / process / chemistry / environmental) with a proven track record in biological process and waste processing sectors, ideally with specialist knowledge across a broader width of industries.
Proven track record of success in the management of technical engineering projects, working with commissioning teams, and championing continuous improvement within a comparable complex business structure where leading change has had significant results in improvingsafety, quality, systems development, systems reporting, customer service, and profitability throughout the full value chain.
Ensure best in class in terms of technical design and project implementation.
Supporting bidding activities and development projects as a technical specialized unit.
