**Overview**:

- The People Apprentice will be given training, guidance and supervision to allow them to support the HR / People team in a variety of projects and people related activities.
- They will complete a CIPD qualification and be given the opportunity to put their learning into practice in a supportive, fast paced environment.

**Key tasks**:

- To support the onboarding of new employees by acting as a point of contact, processing new starter information, responding to queries and updating the HR system.
- To support the People Adviser with inductions and training activities to help ensure these are scheduled, run smoothly and feedback is obtained.
- To provide administrative support for company benefits, ensuring employees are enrolled within specific timescales and have the information they need.
- To act as a first point of contact for employee questions and queries, (both in person and via the inbox) signposting to other members of the People team where appropriate.
- To support the offboarding of leavers by acting as a point of contact, processing leaver information, responding to queries and updating the HR system.
- To maintain the HR system with any employee changes, preparing letters where required and using the information in the system to create accurate reports.
- To support with payroll administration, helping to ensure payroll is accurate and employee queries are resolved.

**Qualifications and training**:

- GCSE level (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths.
- Desirable

**Skills and experience**:

- A desire to learn and to get involved in a range of activities to enable career development.
- Industrial experience of working with people, ideally within a customer facing role.
- Administrative experience in a business environment.
- Basic Excel skills with the ability to maintain spreadsheets.
