**We have two exciting opportunities for Metered Customer Service Advisor's to join our Water Service Delivery team. These are full time, permanent opportunities.**

**What will the role involve?**

We are currently looking to recruit 2 x Metered Customer Service Advisor's, one role is operating in the Malton area and a second role in the Hull area. You will ensure domestic and commercial water meters are read accurately and timely and to provide, wherever practicable, immediate resolution of metering issues, whilst ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service.

**Some of the key responsibilities include the following**:

- Demonstrate financial awareness when making day to day business decisions.
- Take ownership of allocated meter reading area to ensure delivery of excellent customer service, in line with the Company vision.
- Visit and enter customer’s premises, e.g. homes, factories, schools etc. on a cyclical basis to record water meter readings.
- Ensure all meter reading targets are met through individual time management and effective utilisation of contractual flexible working procedures and hours of work.
- Ensure regular maintenance of meter reading rounds and location notes to agreed standards.
- Carry out ad hoc meter readings as required, e.g. checks and final reads.
- Identify and replace damaged meters where possible and in line with trained level of capability.
- Identify street furniture defects and undertake remedial action as appropriate.
- Carry out basic investigation into high and low consumption and take appropriate action.
- Provide support and assistance to other teams within the business when necessary in order to maintain customer service.
- Take responsibility for the correct and safe utilisation of all equipment provided.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and adherence to accident management procedures
- Act as a front-line representative of Yorkshire Water, ensuring that vehicles, corporate clothing and equipment are maintained appropriately, and Company values and behaviours are demonstrated during all activities

**What key skills are required?**
- Full Driving Licence with no more than 6 points
- Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
- Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours.
- Experience of working independently.
- Ability to manage own workload.
- Experience of working in a Customer service environment.
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- This is an outdoors role so you must be comfortable working in all weathers and terrains.
- You will be carrying out a range of manual handling duties including heavy lifting of manhole covers.
- Previous meter reading experience or understanding of household plumbing and water distribution would be desirable

If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.
