People Participation Lead Mental Health

We are looking for a motivated, passionate and assertive individual to join our dynamic People Participation team, who believes the voice of the service user and carer should be at the forefront of the recovery process and is committed to delivering a high quality service involving full co-production processes.

They will be working within the ELFT/NELFT MH Collaborative, supporting the joint service user voice.

Applicants should have a keen interest in service improvement and in supporting and facilitating positive developments, be an effective communicator and be able to work proactively, as part of your local team and also as part of the wider Trust team. You will need to be adept at relationship building with a diverse range of people from across the service and externally and will be able to create and maintain an encouraging and understanding environment for the team of service users and carers. You should have good organisational skills and be able to manage a varying workload efficiently.

These are not clinical posts but aimed at people with lived experience.

These innovative posts focus on the need to bring strong leadership around the participation of people who use Trust services and carers in all aspects of both planning and delivery of mental health services within locality to promote improved outcomes for service users, improve service user and carer experience through new insights and perspectives.

The post holder will work strategically across Trust Corporate services (Finance, people and culture, IT, recruitment, Quality Assurance, Estates etc.) in order to develop and implement a strategy that supports the broad participation agenda. They will project manage a variety of work streams that underpin the locality participation agenda, ensuring that practice in each locality is coordinated and supports and responds to the Trust’s corporate social inclusion strategies.

They will provide strong leadership, advice and practical project work across the locality in the development of a culture that is socially inclusive, valves participation and diversity. Supporting and maintaining effective communication, contributing to the training needs of staff in this aspect of their work. The post holder will need to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
