**Role Purpose**

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in actively contributing to Avant’s pursuit of its sustainability objectives, which include objectives relating to space sustainability, energy and emissions and leveraging our satellite communications services to make a positive social impact across the globe.

We are seeking someone with a strong passion for sustainability who will collaborate closely with Avanti’s Chief Sustainability Officer. The primary focus will be on ensuring effective implementation and continuous development of Avanti’s overall sustainability strategy.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**

**Strategy/Sustainability Programme development**:

- Contributing to the development of specific actions, objectives and KPIs, based on Avanti’s overall sustainability strategy.
- Researching best practice and staying abreast of key sustainability trends and developments to ensure that Avanti’s sustainability programme aligns with best practice.
- Acting as an ambassador for Avanti’s sustainability program, both internally and externally.

**Stakeholder engagement**:

- Building strong and effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, to embed a sustainability-orientated culture and ensure that sustainability goals and business requirements are aligned.
- Serving as key member of internal cross-functional sustainability committee.
- Responding to sustainability related questions/requests for information from internal and external stakeholders, including completion of shareholder/customer ESG audits and inputting to sustainability related elements of RFPs/contracts.

**Compliance and reporting**:

- Understanding key sustainability/ESG frameworks and standards to ensure that Avanti’s operations are compliant with applicable local and international requirements.
- Working closely with the legal team to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Working with finance team to ensure any sustainability related disclosures in accounts/annual reports are accurate and complete.
- Producing internal and external sustainability policies and ensuring compliance with such policies.

**Carbon footprint, policies, and reporting**:

- Leading on data collection, analysis and reporting of carbon emissions, including establishing a robust and efficient data collection process.
- Working with external consultants/carbon reporting software providers to prepare annual carbon footprint reports.

**Employee training and engagement**:

- Delivering training/awareness about sustainability issues to employees.
- Developing ways to ensure employee engagement with sustainability programme.

**Skills & Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- Enthusiasm and passion for sustainability field and a desire to make an impact in a corporate setting.
- Solid understanding of sustainability issues, initiatives, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Batchelors degree or relevant work experience.
