**Head of Compliance & Governance**

**About the Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
**Compliance Leadership**
Lead all areas of compliance and risk management across the organisation.
Proactively identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk before they escalate.
Take ultimate responsibility for our accreditation and compliance with awarding bodies, legislation, and relevant regulations.
Prepare and take sole responsibility for awarding bodies' audits and visits.
**Governance and Relationship Management**
Act as the key point of contact for awarding bodies including CITB, CMI, Proqual, IOSH, and others that we intend to engage with.
Oversee the implementation of actions and build lasting relationships with key contacts.
Ensure proactive management in regard to compliance, acting as the guardian of all quality matters within the company.
**Organisational Oversight**
Oversight of policies, procedures, mandatory training, insurance policies, disaster recovery, and response to complaints within the company.
Collaborate with Heads of Departments and the Managing Director, offering strategic advice and guidance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all legislation, compliance matters, and ensure timely action concerning regulatory changes.
**Legal Compliance Responsibilities**
The Head of Compliance & Governance will play a crucial role in safeguarding the legal integrity of CST Training. Your responsibilities will include interpreting and ensuring adherence to laws and regulations that appertain to our industry. This will involve constant monitoring of legal changes, evaluating our company's current legal position, implementing necessary legal policies and procedures, and coordinating with legal counsel as needed. Collaborating with various departments, you will guide the organisation in legal matters, mitigate risks, and foster a culture of legal compliance that aligns with our ethical standards and business goals.
**HR Compliance Responsibilities**
In this role, you will also be entrusted with overseeing HR compliance, ensuring that our human resources policies and practices comply with relevant laws. Collaborating with the HR department, you will conduct periodic audits, provide training to HR and management staff on compliance matters, and may need to respond to any employee grievances or complaints in accordance with legal requirements. Your strategic insight and proactive approach will be vital in maintaining an HR environment that respects the rights of employees while aligning with CST Training's values and business objectives.
**Development of New Accreditations**
As CST Training continues its ambitious growth trajectory, your role as Head of Compliance & Governance will involve spearheading the pursuit of new accreditations that align with our expanding portfolio of courses and qualifications. Working closely with internal teams and external awarding bodies, you will identify opportunities, assess requirements, and manage the process of obtaining new accreditations that add value to our offerings. Your experience and strategic insight will be vital in navigating complex accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with requisite standards, and positioning CST Training to remain at the forefront of industry excellence. This aspect of the role reflects the dynamic and forward-thinking nature of our firm and will be integral to our continued success and expansion.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Minimum 10 years' experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, ideally within the training sector.
- Degree in law, business administration, or related fields.
- Analytical, highly organised, and attentive to detail.
- Strong communication, advisory skills, and active listening ability.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
