**We have a fantastic opportunity for a Veterinary Receptionist/PCA to join our team here at Castle Vets. Working predominantly at the Bishop Auckland site, but some cover at Barnard Castle will be required.**

This is ideally a full-time position but part-time hours could also be considered, where you will be working Monday-Friday with a 1:4 share in the Saturday morning rota.

The Receptionist/ Patient Care Assistant role is one of the foundations of an outstanding veterinary practice, in this role you would be involved in supporting our team of qualified RVNs and Vets to provide outstanding care to our patients, working alongside a lovely team of people. This role will involve animal handling, assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment, cleaning, walking and feeding patients, general cleaning and maintenance duties, answering phone calls, reception cover, greeting clients and providing the highest standards of animal and customer care.

**Main duties**:

- Answering calls and booking appointments
- Completing paperwork and insurance forms
- Taking payments
- Registering new clients
- Assisting vets and nurses in restraining animals for treatment
- Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients
- Preparation of emergency and operating facilities
- General cleaning and maintenance duties
- Running internal lab samples
- Answering emergency calls
- Serve clients and take payments
- To provide a friendly, efficient and effective service to clients

Previous Receptionist or customer facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who is flexible and adaptable - as there are so many aspects to the role, we need someone who is quick thinking and willing to learn

The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage +3% cost of living increase.

As one of our Receptionists you will have access to our Client Care Hub. This is a dedicate space on our Knowledge Hub for all client care resources. You will be invited to join a support session within your first few weeks of being in the business, where you will meet a Learning Partner and begin your training journey. You can then join further sessions at any point over the following six months to ask any questions you may have regarding your training. This training is alongside the training your will receive in practice.
