**The Company you will be working for;**

Our client is an established and successful company based in Sunderland. They are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please applybelow.

**The job you’ll do;**
- Full range of Book-keeping duties
- Manage purchase and nominal ledgers
- Input purchase invoices
- Process accounts payable
- Raise journals
- Enter bank payments and receipts, complete bank reconciliations
- Produce quarterly VAT reconciliations and returns and make online payments to HMRC.
- Prepare employee expenses and timesheets for Payroll (outsourced) according to HMRC
- Guidelines and make PAYE online payments to HMRC.
- Raise monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet Statements and analyse to produce monthly management accounts and other reports for Directors.
- Implement, maintain, and manage a framework of internal controls and systems to ensure that accounting records are complete and accurate and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for all 'housekeeping’ duties, administer Barclays PDQ system, payments of rent, rates, insurances, utilities, leases, and contracts for office equipment and systems, repairs, renewals, and stationery.
- Manage Legal Aid receipts - record disbursements, raise sales bills when in receipt of funds from Legal Aid and pay disbursements accordingly

**About you;**
- Experience in bookkeeping is preferred
- Knowledge of Solicitors Accounting Rules and experience of Legal Aid preferable
- Proficient in the use of computerised accounts systems, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft packages
- You must have a strong attention to detail
