**About the job**
Your role includes responding timely to customer queries, giving standard information and guidance relating to the service, maintaining records and producing professional correspondence whilst working in a fast-paced, administrative environment.

You will be responsible for monitoring mailboxes, supporting other administrative assistants within the team with their day-to-day tasks where appropriate and providing data in relation to the role responsibilities on a regular basis, working to timescales and deadlines.

**What you’ll need to succeed**
You will be able to work as part of a team to support the team and service’s objectives, as well as using your own initiative to proactively and independently respond to queries and unexpected problems that may arise, whilst knowing when to effectively escalate.

You will need to be understanding to individual needs and build rapport with stakeholders whilst providing support and guidance in a timely manner.

**Required skills and experience**
(These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)

**Key Skills**:
1. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills in order to understand complex written instructions and complete a variety of calculations. For example: To calculate leave entitlement and basic pay.

2. Ability to meet set deadlines and to understand when problems need to be referred upwards, such as responding to complaints promptly for a quick and accurate resolution.

3. Ability to be analytical or creative where there is a need to interpret a variety of complex information or situations in order to solve problems or develop solutions such as analysing statistics or organising events e.g. recruitment days
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills to understand and confidently communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear advice and specialist guidance to a range of stakeholders. To present information clearly, concisely and accurately and in ways to promote understanding with mínimal guidance.
5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and members of the public.

**Qualifications**:

- 4 GCSE A-C passes including English and Maths (or equivalent)

**Experience**

**Essential**:

- Good Experience of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent packages) for the integral use of word processing, data processing, report writing, creating enhanced presentations, maintaining computer databases and producing statistical data at a high level.
- Experience of working within a customer orientated environment.

**Desirable**:

- Experience of providing a fast-paced, efficient administrative service.
- Experience of working in an administrative role within an HR/People environment
