As a Barclays Credit Strategy Analyst, you will join our Credit Risk team, driving value through the appropriate Risk Management of relevant credit risk analytics and strategies for the Barclays' Payments portfolio. **What will you be doing?**:

- Defining, building and implementing a data driven credit risk strategy, working closely with key technology, risk and commercial partners
- Providing insights and recommendations to the Senior Credit Risk Manager, supporting the creation of risk strategies in order to contain the cost of risks and to achieve impairment targets
- Managing the in-depth monitoring of performance of certain credit policies, highlighting trends and insights
- Ensuring strategy model documentation and governance remain up-to date, working with the internal validation unit to ensure those models are well governed
- Supporting external reviews of all strategies and policies (e.g. Audit, Peer review) and ensuring the business remains compliant to all internal and external regulations
- Delivering clear, concise, and effective communication of proposed strategy changes to management and key stakeholders, presenting them at relevant forums
- Influencing on-going communications with key business stakeholders at a senior level
- Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management framework and policy standards
**What we're looking for**:

- Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems
- Knowledge of data analysis and how this contributes to the business
- High proficiency in the standard statistical packages (SAS and SQL), as well as in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- A strategic thinker, with excellent communication and analytical skills
**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Credit Risk background
- Bachelor's or Master degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Operational Research would be advantageous
- Experience using Python
**Where will you be working?**
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.
We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
