Overview:
James & Wallis is an independent family run business and since 1961 we have been providing flooring and professional interior design to Beaconsfield and the surrounding area.

We are seeking a talented Designer with experience of specifying curtains and blinds to join our friendly team. You will be working with our customers in our showroom assisting customers with fabric choices for curtains, blinds, other types of window dressing and upholstery. Designing room schemes as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with clients to determine their needs, preferences and budget constraints.
- Provide expert advice on fabric selection, colour schemes and design concepts.
- Source products e.g. poles, Tracks, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressing from trusted suppliers.
- Produce sample or mood boards to present to clients as required.
- Measuring all types of window treatments on site and quantifying fabrics.
- Create detailed proposals and estimates for projects.
- Follow up on quotations and convert to sales.
- Ensure accurate completion of paperwork.
- Order goods direct with suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers, workrooms, and installation teams to ensure timely and flawless execution of projects.
- Checking of supplier’s invoices and deliveries.
- Project management.
- Manage phone calls and correspondence.
- Maintain existing supplier relationships.
- Keep and maintain showroom to a tidy and well-kept standard.
- Able to work alternative Saturdays.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design desirable.
- Interior design experience in a retail environment is desirable.
- Minimum of 4 year’s experience.
- Proven experience as an advisor to soft furnishings.
- Knowledge of fabric, trends and suppliers.
- Experience measuring for window treatments and quantifying fabrics.
- Highly organised.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong numerical and administrative skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Deliver an excellent level of customer service.
- Computer literate.
- Driving Licence is essential as we often see customers in their own homes and undertake measuring and estimating.
