**Fox Morris Group** are working to recruit a **Head of Housing (Homelessness)**

**Rate - Negotiable dependent upon experience**

**Your Role;**

Dorset Council is looking for an interim Head of Housing for a six month period. This is to support the Corporate Director of Housing and Community Safety and the team of Service Managers in delivering Dorset Council’s housing services. It is also to operate as deputy for the Director to enable him to retain his oversight of housing, but to free up time on key corporate and partnership strategic priorities.

We are looking for someone with strong operational experience across a range of activities typical of a Unitary Local Authority which is large but has a strong enabling and housing needs focus, due to not holding stock of social/Council housing. We are looking for someone who is good at looking across that range, with key partners across professions, and to support the best outcomes through collaboration and effective planning. The range of functions covered are:

- Housing Standards (including Housing related environmental health)
- Homelessness and Housing Advice
- Temporary Accommodation
- Housing Register and Lettings
- Housing Strategy
- Housing Enabling and liaison with Registered Providers

There is a strong and motivated team of Service Managers, with good performance, so this role would be to support the continuation and development of that work. A set of transformation projects are being planned to support the delivery of the new Housing Strategy and to meet challenging housing demand and supply challenges within Dorset. The role would involve work to support and deliver those projects and to achieve strong and successful outcomes.
