**Job Description for Teaching Assistant**

1 to1 SEN Primary School Teaching Assistant for a Year 3 little boy in Bootle Merseyside

**Key Responsibilities**
- Recording and reporting pupil's progress to the Teacher
- Establish good working relationships with pupil, acting as a role model
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn
- Work with specialist teaching services, medical staff, counsellors and psychologists
- Actively work with pupils towards their individual achievement and objectives and success measures.
- Liaise with parents, carers and guardians when appropriate
- Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction
- Provide specific support to pupils dependant upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
- Promote inclusion, self-esteem and independence and acceptance of all pupils
- Provide some clerical/administration support to teacher
- Promote good behaviour and support learner to achieve learning goals

**Skills and Knowledge and Training**
- Appropriately qualified and have relevant skills and experience in working with children
- Adaptable and able to work on their own initiative
- Committed to working in partnership with colleagues, other professionals and families
- Good personal numeracy and literacy skills
- Patience and ability build and maintain stressful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration, and demonstrate concern for their development as learners
- Sensitivity and Understanding
- To be able to carry out basic tasks on the computer or hand written
- Confident to work in challenging environments and to manage challenging behaviour
- Non Judgemental, flexible, adaptable, resilient, calm, self motivated and compassionate.

Pay: £350.00-£445.00 per week
