**Job Title**: SEN Teaching Assistant

**Location**: Bournemouth

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with individuals or small groups of children with SEND to support their learning and development in the classroom.
- Adapt materials and resources to meet the needs of individual children.
- Monitor children’s progress and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and other professionals.
- Provide personal care and support to children with physical disabilities, medical conditions, or complex needs.
- Help children to develop their social and emotional skills through positive interactions and modelling appropriate behaviour.
- Support children during transitions and changes, such as moving to a new school or classroom.
- Attend training and professional development sessions as required to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to the class teacher or SENCO.

**Requirements**:

- Experience of working with children with SEND in a school setting.
- Knowledge of a range of SEND conditions and strategies for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Flexibility, resilience and a positive attitude towards change.

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
- Experience of using assistive technology to support children with SEND.
- Additional relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or a relevant degree.
