We have a brand-new opportunity for a **Finance Assistant** in the Wakefield office.

This is a varied role within the finance team and duties will include managing the fixed assets register, purchase ledger, intercompany reconciliations, providing support with month end processes, VAT returns, stock reporting & controls.

We are looking for an individual with previous office experience, a willing and flexible attitude, a curious and inquisitive approach and a keenness to improve and develop current processes.
We are willing to train the right person looking on build on their core finance knowledge.

Hybrid working (office and home)

**Main responsibilities**
- Control of the Fixed asset register
- Support with Purchase ledger, processing invoices and expense processing.
- Reconciliation of stock on water (GRNI) balance sheet account
- Managing Intercompany balances within Sales & Purchase ledger
- Supporting areas such as: reviewing & process journals relating to gross margins and VAT reporting.
- Ongoing maintenance of SAP data

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working within a finance department desirable.
- Good work ethic with attention to detail
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of financial tasks.
- Keen to learn and develop.
- Team player and works collaboratively with colleagues.
- Forward thinking and keen to improve current processes.
- Intermediate Excel Skills
- SAP knowledge desirable but not essential
