**Job Purpose**
To provide comprehensive administrative support to EAS Programme Directors and the School Head of Professional Services to ensure the efficient functioning of all pre-sessional courses and in-sessional courses (in-person and online), supporting the School to meet its strategic objectives and targets. As a progressive and constantly evolving institution, the University implements new systems and adopts new ways of working. EAS has a particularly important role in responding to changes in the international market with flexibility and innovative solutions. This will provide the role holder with the opportunity to acquire a variety of skills and experience.

**Main duties and Responsibilities**
1. Coordinate own area of responsibility prioritising, reacting and adapting as necessary to changing priorities to deliver comprehensive administrative and specialist support for EAS within the School of Modern Languages and Cultures.
3. Provide specialist pre-entry advice to applicants and their agents based on specialist knowledge of the EAS programmes.
-6. Plan own work, preparing for specific tasks and prioritising detailed requirements to facilitate course planning and delivery (including room bookings), maintaining flexibility to respond to changing circumstances.
8. Prepare and review communications to convey messages clearly and efficiently to applicants and students, taking into account a potential limited understanding of English, and cultural differences.
9. Contribute to promotional marketing materials and activity, including Web pages, online Q&As and online videos.
11. Continually review, develop and implement improvements to operational procedures in support of a high quality service to all stakeholders and in support of relevant transformation projects. This includes where necessary devising and implementing creative solutions to any issues which arise.
12. Regularly represent EAS at interdepartmental meetings using our specialist knowledge of this area of teaching provision.
13. Undertake additional duties and tasks, including reasonable professional development, as required by appropriate line management.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**

**Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1 Either: Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
A2 Or: HNC, VQ3, Higher Grades or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**

**Essential**
C1 Effective planning, organising, and prioritising skills within challenging timescales.
C2 Ability to undertake assigned tasks in a timely manner and to an acceptable standard.
C3 Excellent operational knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.
C4 Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capability. Including data analysis and reporting.
C5 Knowledge and awareness of external changes which impact on the role and ability to respond to these as appropriate.
C6 Initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently.
C7 Awareness of confidentiality and the ability to handle both written and verbal information.
C8 Ability to communicate clearly with tact and diplomacy, orally and in writing, to ensure effective reporting and customer service.
C9 Effective IT and numeracy skills.

**Desirable**:

D1 Broad understanding of the University structure, policies, practices, and procedures relating to admissions and operational processes.
D2 Detailed knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, processes, and procedures including software packages, e.g., MyCampus, CMIS, Moodle, T4.
D3 Ability to supervise staff where appropriate.
D4 Experience of working in an HE or FE environment.
D5 Awareness of relevant health and safety policies and procedures relative to the role, and the quality outputs and standards required.
D6 Demonstrable knowledge of cultural differences for learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
D7 Experience of interpreting and adhering to UKVI policy in relation to student visas.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended (permanent).
