**Department/Role overview**

The purpose of this role is to support Ashurst to operate sustainably. Reporting into the Head of Operations Innovations, this new role will coordinate a wide range of activities that support our carbon reduction ambitions.

**Main responsibilities**
- Develops effective internal reporting processes that ensure key stakeholders are updated on progress and are effectively engaged with initiatives, goals and other projects.
- Schedules meetings, manages agendas and prepares written materials to support progress on a wide range of sustainability initiatives.
- Maintains plans for ongoing reporting processes and deadlines, including document management, project management and communications management.
- Manages and reports on risks related to all elements of our sustainability initiatives.
- Establishes effective and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate the completion of mandatory reports and disclosures.
- Undertakes research in relation to changes in market practice for carbon capture and reporting and shares insights and opportunities with key stakeholders on new opportunities to deliver our sustainability initiatives.
- Provides support and direction to other members of the Operations team or internal stakeholders where needed to ensure we achieve our carbon reduction goals.
- Works with internal communications team to build out and deliver internal updates, training and other engagement activities relating to sustainable operations.
- Takes the lead on engaging with third party consultants and partners with internal stakeholders to maximise engagements.
- Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

**Essential skills and experience**
- Experience or interest in establishing and driving Corporate Sustainability initiatives across a large-scale organisation
- Flair for drafting effective and compelling documents and presentations
- Previous experience working in a global environment and across multiple time-zones
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced organisational and influencing skills, flexibility of style, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high pressured, detail-oriented environment
- High degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting, decision-making skills
- Understanding of the structure and environment of a law firm
