**Opportunity**

Head Gardener wanted as soon as possible for our lovely 3 acre garden in Devon

The garden surrounds regency Kentisbeare House, with views towards Dartmoor. Designed by Libby Russell from Mazzullo Russell Landscape Design this is a family garden, but also a plantsman’s garden, and we are looking for an experienced gardener to help improve the horticultural standard of the garden and develop it further. Although not huge, the garden has something to interest any gardener and we are looking to take this forward.

The garden is designed around the house with formal pleached lime cubes flanking views towards down to a lake and wildflower meadows. As one goes around the house, one enters the large herbaceous borders designed around a small reflecting pool and the smaller garden areas around the house. To the other side lies acidic soil woodland gardens and paths into the wider landscape as well as an entrance area, where more design work is to be done.

In the other direction the garden goes through a tennis court and pool area to the large organic kitchen garden and greenhouse and wider orchard and back of house working area.

The job comes with a very pretty thatched 3 bedroom cottage overlooking the kitchen garden with its own front garden. Kentisbeare is some 3 miles from the M5 and in the catchment area for good schools.

Salary is commensurate with experience and there is the possibility of part-time work for a partner within the house or garden if desired.
