This Leigh-based Housing Association is looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join them on a permanent basis. The role is offering up to £27.3k and is offering 50/50 hybrid working, after the initial training period is complete. The role offers 27 daysholiday (rising with extended service) and flexible working with access to a Pension Scheme.

**THE ROLE**

This position is to support a team of Accountants within a Service Charge finance team. The role will predominantly be assisting with month-end and year-end accounts and ensuring the rent and service charge, setting processes complies with any legislativeand regulatory requirements.

**Key responsibilities**:

- To further ensure the annual process relating to each Group member is completed in accordance with the tenancy/lease agreements and Rent Policy
- Assist in ensuring the system for setting service charges is accurate, maintained, and appropriate for the needs of The Group
- To ensure that service costs across the group are fully identified and recovered. In addition, ensuring that the management/administration of service charges is compliant with all regulatory and legislative requirements
- Ensure all provisions and sinking funds are regularly reviewed to ensure they are comprehensive and accurate
- Work with the Management Accountants to ensure all leaseholder and service charge accounts are produced each year
- Maintain up-to-date procedures for all processes within the area of responsibility
- Working with other members across the group to provide them with a financial/business support service

**THE CANDIDATE**

You will have previous experience working in a finance team and have a general understanding of financial controls, policies and procedures. It is desirable that you have previous experience working within a housing association environment (ideally withinRents and Service Charge) but this is by no means essential. You will have good interpersonal skills so you can effectively communicate with and provide professional support and assistance to all team members. You will have experience working with computerisedaccounting systems and have excellent spreadsheet skills, especially within Excel. Knowledge and a good awareness of analytical and reporting tools are essential.
