Join our Housing Solutions Service as a Housing Caseworker, work with rough sleepers and help us support this customer group in securing suitable accommodation.

**About the role**

In this vital new role, you will proactively seek to relieve homelessness amongst rough sleepers in the council's local communities across the county.

Working closely with the council's Rough Sleeper Team, housing, social care, health and other colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring that the council's statutory homelessness duties towards rough sleepers are fulfilled, and assisting to get rough sleepers off the streets and into suitable accommodation.

It is an exciting and busy role, requiring multi-agency and partnership collaboration to help customers resolve their housing difficulties, and to ensure the protection of vulnerable persons.

**About you**

You’ll be highly empathic, outcome-focussed and creative, with a commitment to working in partnership with internal and external contacts, to ensure high quality and efficient service.

You should have knowledge of landlord, tenant, allocations and homelessness law, policies and procedures, and experience of managing a demanding caseload, home visits and investigations.

We expect you to be agile, customer-orientated and highly literate, with excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.

Rising open market housing prices and cost of living challenges make this a very challenging time for the service and you will be using your professional skills and experience to develop innovative solutions to prevent homelessness.
