Shipping Coordinator

We’re looking for an experienced **Shipping Coordinator **for a 6 month contract with a high possibility for the role to extend or go permanent. This role is to work in the oil and gas industry based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.

The Shipping Coordinator will have knowledge of international logistics/freight and ERP knowledge (Sage & Epicore desirable) to:

- facilitate the safe and timely shipment of product and materials.
- work with key stakeholders to obtain freight estimates and execute customer shipment plans.
- communicate with clients and facilitate transactions managing shipment orders, requests for tracking information and handling return requests.
- ensure relevant documentation has been prepared and recorded

**What does the job involve for a Shipping Coordinator?**
- Ensure movement of goods, imports & exports is in compliance with HMRC & the Company’s policy.
- Organise the shipment of import and export orders: obtaining quotes from freight agents, preparing all relevant documentation, liaising with other departments to obtain information as required
- Adhere to compliance procedures & Incoterms regulations
- Complete accurate documentation such as commercial invoices and dangerous goods notes and orders in line with regulations according to the country of destination
- Plan and co-ordinate transportation of items and manage the timely flow of customer orders and with focus on accuracy, efficiency and time management
- Prepare customer invoices for export orders
- Assist in preparation of audits/inspections both internal company and by external bodies.
- Liaising with Sales Department and Warehouse personnel for special order requirements and information
- Complete month end reports for accounts department
- Maintenance of HMRC records, both imports and exports, updating OA filing system / archiving etc.
- Address order flow or delays and quality control issues, such as damaged or improperly packed goods
- Complete daily shipping and receiving logs
- Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping/receiving errors
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

**What skills and experience do you need as a Shipping Coordinator ?**
- HND in a relevant business qualification or equivalent
- CILT related qualification - Desirable
- Solid knowledge of logistics import & export procedures including customs procedures
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook)

**What are the pay and benefits?**

Pay Rate circa £13.30 - £15.90 per hour (possibility for OT - pay rate x 1.5)
Work Schedule will be Monday-Thursday 8.30-17.00, Friday 8.30-15.45
