As a Day Support Worker, you will have a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere where our clients feel secure and cared for during their stay. Our approach is centred around understanding and responding to the evolving needs of each client, ensuring their journey towards stability is personalized and effective.
**Role overview**:
In this role, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at meeting the unique needs of our clients. This includes facilitating person-centred support plans that are continuously adapted to align with the evolving requirements of each individual. You will support clients in activities such as meal planning and preparation, engage in recreational pursuits, and assist with practical tasks like scheduling GP appointments or helping hem with managing their Universal Credit accounts. Additionally, you will have a small caseload of clients, offering one to one support, completing referrals and signposting to other essential services such as drug and alcohol support, debt management, and more.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Create a welcoming and secure environment for our clients, fostering a sense of safety and support.
- Develop and maintain person-centred support plans, ensuring regular reviews to accommodate changing client needs.
- Assist clients where applicable in planning and preparing their meals on a budget, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Engage in recreational activities with clients, promoting social interaction and well-being.
- Support clients in essential tasks such as booking GP appointments and managing their Universal Credit account.
- Manage a small caseload of clients, offering referrals to specialised support providers and signposting to necessary services.
- Conduct general cleaning tasks, including stock-taking, maintenance checks and room preparation for incoming clients.
- Mediate conflicts between clients when they arise, fostering a harmonious living environment.
- Provide crisis support to clients and initiate contact with emergency services as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of client interactions and progress.
**Administrative Tasks**:
- Complete housing benefit paperwork with clients on arrival.
- Ensure correct records are maintained on our online _Salesforce _system.
- Answer the phone and deal with general enquiries.
- Complete a handover for day staff every shift.
- Complete stock takes of food, wash and bedding items on a weekly basis and keep this updated on the shared drive.
**General Tasks**:
- Be responsible for the security and safety of the building.
- Ensure that all Organisational Policies and Procedures are read, signed, and followed.
- To be on time for work.
- To undertake any tasks as identified by your manager, as and when required, to meet the needs of the Organisation.
- Liaise with other agencies locally and nationally as appropriate.
**Meetings**:
- Attend a full team meeting bi-monthly.
- Attend regular support meetings with your manager.
**Training**
- As part of your role with us you will be offered full training, at times this may be away from your normal place of work and outside of normal working hours.
**Essential Skills**
- An excellent command of English (oral and written)
- Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
