The Ipsos UK Trends and Foresight practice is looking for a self-motivated senior business developer in the role of Principal, to join our team of entrepreneurial thinkers and continue our successful growth journey in the UK.

The Trends and Foresight practice specialises in delivering bespoke and meaningful trends, scanning the horizon for drivers of change, drawing on experts to spot emergent futures and creating scenarios and narratives of the future. We ultimately support clients to become more resilient to change, enabling them to capitalise on opportunities to create the future they desire to see.

Alongside our client work, we publish many pieces of thought leadership, including Ipsos Global Trends, Shaping 2025, and thematic deep dives such as Making a Plant-Based Future.

The role will be based in Tower Hill in London, and report into our UK and Global Head of Trends and Foresight.
- Previous experience in a client-facing commercial, sales and/or business development role.
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
- Proven track record of business development success
- Existing portfolio of client relationships
- Visionary insight into how to grow and evolve a business
- Enormous personal impact and executive presence
- Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, both client and internal
- Demonstrated leadership and line-management skills with team members at all levels
- Commitment to coaching, growing, and nurturing talent
- Entrepreneurial scrappiness, ambition, determination, and fearlessness

You don’t need to be an expert in trends and foresight methodology or approaches, but you must have a passion for this world and some experience in delivery of such projects. Critically important is the ability to successfully navigate large organisations, find and leverage the right buying points, and build relationships internally and externally across a wide range of personalities and specialties.
