**Part Time Dispenser over 3 - 5 days**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Issuing stock items and prepared prescriptions
- Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements
- Dispensing acute prescriptions
- To ensure that all medicines and appliances dispensed are checked against the prescription
- Operation of efficient stock control
- Checking goods as and when they are delivered and recording generic details
- Disposal of patient returned unused medicines using the yellow burns bin, or any CD to be disposed following procedure.
- Dispensing and checking repeat prescriptions
- Dealing with queries from patients regarding their prescriptions
- Use computer to keep records up to date
- Ordering Drugs through the computer system to the wholesalers
- Handling prescription money and ensure that all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are appropriately stored
- Assist when required to meet targets in relation to dispensing doctors scheme
- Ensuring the Dispensary area remains clean and tidy
- Ensure controlled Drugs (CDs) are ordered, handled and recorded appropriately
- Sorting, stamping and endorsing prescriptions
- Give advice on HC1 forms or prepayment form to assist patients with costs

To undertake any necessary work as may be required as appropriate to maintain a high standard and efficient dispensing service

Part time - £11.00 per hour
