Brew York is an established Brewery and Bars in the York area and we are taking over the The Mitre in Knaresborough and are looking to build our team there so come and join the team at Brew York as a Bar Supervisor:
Key duties of the role our

Legislation - Keeping up to date with licensing legislation, liaising with the authorities and taking overall legal responsibility for the premises (including Challenge 25 policy)

Staff - Support Managers of Bar to ensure training and motivation of all staff working in the Bar and all staff adhere to policies.

Recruitment
- Highlight any gaps in resource with Managers of The Mitre and support where needed

Support on Staff Scheduling - assess the needs of the business to meet customer demand and staff the bar accordingly, by producing rotas on rolling monthly basis when required

Service - Oversee the service of beverages and have overall responsibility for the service standards of the bar when scheduled for covering for the Manager.

Staff Breaks - ensure staff breaks are given in accordance with current employment law and in consideration of the demands of the business

Stock Control - Support with Conducting weekly/monthly stock takes, ensure stock rotation and replenish stock as efficiently as possibly (i.e. using delivery services where appropriate). All Stock must be input into the till so that stock can be monitored. Any deliveries should be checked against order form before accepting. Any stock needs to be input correctly into system before sale.

Cellar Management - movement of beer to the bar, Preparation of Beer for Dispense and ensure good condition of all beers. Line cleaning to be completed weekly Sunday evenings after close. Adhere to industry standard Cellar Management Practice. Ensure all empty kegs and casks are disposed of properly

Hygiene - Support the Managers for ensuring hygiene of bar and associated facilities (Toilet checks/maintenance etc) is of a high standard and any issues with Facilities should be reported to appropriate person to fix.

Open And Close of The Mitre - When covering for the Manager Overall responsibility of cleanliness and all actions completed on checklists, Liaise with Housekeeper on any issues

Health & Safety - Ensure all working within the The Mitre does so in compliance with Health & Safety standards

Complaints - dealing with customer complaints and/or challenging customers and highlight any issues with General Managers.

Events - Work with the events coordinator to fulfill all event requirements in line with set process.

Ensure incident log maintained

Ensure any maintenance issues are reported immediately

**Required Qualifications/Experience**

Essential:

- A good standard of GCSE education
- Good knowledge of the Craft Beer sector and the on and off trade
- A good understanding of Cellar Management and Beer Dispense
- Customer service experience
- Leadership and organisational abilities
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving attitude
- Flexibility to work in shifts

Desired:

- Personal Alcohol License
- 2 years+ experience working in a bars of the on trade

**Hours of Work & Holiday Entitlement**
- 40 hours per week (there is an option for increased base hours, reflected in salary range), this may be some weeks more than 40 hours and some less(Tues-Sun, sometimes inclusive of evenings)
- Holidays - 28 days, which includes all statutory / public holidays (time in lieu will be offered where required to work a bank holiday

**Compensation & Benefits**
- Bar Supervisor Base Salary - £24,000 to £25,000 per annum
