**Purpose**:

- To provide accounting and financial analysis to the business unit
- To provide commercial financial support to all (bid, project, costing)
- To support the sale of and subsequent process change of the business
- To ensure compliance with statutory financial controls as required within the relevant business unit

***Key Deliverables**:

- Ownership of business unit finances, projects, overhead and working capital
- Partnering with key personnel to understand, challenge and support primary cost & revenue drivers and variances
- Analysis of contract status highlighting opportunities and risks to support the minimisation of costs and the effective complete close-out both commercially and legally
- Understand the cost base and drivers of the business to ensure adequate controls in place to manage
- Support preparation and concurrence of project financial models for new bids and tenders to include cash flow, IRR, payback
- Completion of ongoing and post-project financial reviews with Project Managers outlining and highlighting budget differences and variances from original plan
- Detailed analysis of monthly financials (projects, fleet as appropriate) and forecasts for review with BU MD, Leadership team and Group management
- Support the overall finance team in preparation of appropriate accounting entries, monthly Management Information Pack and other reporting
- Information gathering and challenge to support sale process and subsequent process change
- Ad hoc duties as required
- Qualifications, Skills and Experience

**Experience / Qualifications**:

- Qualified accountant post-qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
- Experience of monthly variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, project accounting and costing.
- Experience of commercial proposals and analysis for both sales and procurement
- Excellent communication and presentational skills.
- Ability to understand technical & operational issues at a high level and translate these into financial and commercial terms.
- Ability to work pro-actively & independently managing varying workloads on different projects but managing time to meet all deadlines as they fall due
- Understanding and knowledge of contracts and the contractual process in either a marine, construction or project environment

Advanced Microsoft Excel based skills; be comfortable with financial formulae Lookups, Pivots
