Job title: The Oliver McGowan Training - Facilitating Trainer

**Salary**: £15,700 - £16,238

Hours: 20 hours per week

Location: Luton with some Home Working

Accountable to: Oliver McGowan Training Project Lead

The post holder will be expected to:

- Deliver learning disability and autism training to people who work in health and social care. This training is called The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.
- Have an in-depth understanding of learning disability and autism and are likely to have training experience.
- Lead and support experts with lived experience co-trainers who will be autistic people and people with a learning disability.
- Seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery, and obtaining and analysing feedback.
- Ensure effective use of educational resources to help ensure training targets are met.
- Promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities in health opportunities through training and education.

CORE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be expected to:

- Co-deliver training activity, working effectively with Experts with Lived experience in the delivery and evaluation of training and education activities.
- Help to ensure the effective organisation of training activity which may include booking training dates and venues; devising and/or following training booking and recording processes and procedures; recording attendance and updating training records in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Develop and deliver training to a wide range of disciplines and agencies.
- Be confident using technologies (including a range of Microsoft packages) to deliver training and communicate with colleagues; including use of MS Teams
- Identify and liaise effectively with a variety of voluntary, private and other statutory organisations.
- Ensure that effective systems of evaluation are in place and quality assurance maintained and continually developed.
- Undertake continuing professional development.
- Actively take part in appraisal, supervision and workload management.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The post holder will be expected to:
Role model exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude and performance, when delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism.

Demonstrate the ability to effectively support experts with lived experience co-trainers, ensuring they are fully included and supported in the delivery of the sessions, helping them to develop skills and confidence.

Undertake a supervisory role for experts with lived experience co-trainers, ensuring appropriate support, leadership and coaching in line with organisational expectations.

Demonstrate the ability to co-deliver training sessions. The sessions will utilise a range of methods, including traditional training delivery, group discussions, and film.

Demonstrate best practice facilitating training.

Regularly teach large groups - multi-professional, multi-agency.

Employ learning interventions that are learner centred.

Ensure all the learning outcomes are fully achieved.

Recognise and addresses the needs of individuals and the group prior to, during and after the session.

Help to keep participants and staff safe and confident in their surroundings and acts on safeguarding and health and safety concerns in line with organisation policies.

Appropriately challenge poor practice.

Keep up to date with current and emerging thinking in health and social care practice, learning disability and autism, laws of consent (UK), The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Autism Act 2009, Do not attempt cardiovascular resuscitation case law (DNACPR), LeDeR and other associated data.
