FD Recruit is partnering an SME manufacturing group with the core business based in Skelmersdale. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the Finance, HR and IT functions of the group.
The Group Finance Director will have previous experience within manufacturing and will ensure that accurate, efficient and effective financial processes and systems are embedded. The role will also involve providing the Board with assurance and an excellentunderstanding of business performance whilst also developing the finance function across the group and partnering operations to drive performance and profitability.

The Group FD will have the following responsibilities:

- Overseeing and leading the group finance function to ensure it delivers accurate and timely reports and provision of management information with insightful commentary to aid decision making.
- Managing all aspects of budget preparation and regular reforecasts.
- Taking a robust approach to managing cash, optimising working capital, and ensuring proactive cashflow management is always at the heart of the business.
- Managing foreign exchange activities to ensure an accurate and appropriate cash position at all times.
- Managing key relationships with all internal teams and external stakeholders including banks, auditors, insurers, tax advisors and other professional services.
- Ensuring all Company Secretarial requirements are fulfilled, management of Pension Schemes and that all statutory reporting and financial compliance requirements met for group.
- Partnering the operating and executive board to drive business performance.
- Supporting the delivery of capital projects, new product development and financial costings to support the business strategy.
- Managing cashflow for the group, identifying opportunities for project and working capital funding and building an excellent working relationship with funders.
- Mentoring and developing individuals within the finance, IT and HR functions to create high functioning departments.
- Overseeing the group HR functions to ensure adherence to company policy and employer/employee legislation.

In order to be successful in this role the FD will have the following experience:

- Strong academic background and professional qualification, ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Prior experience of working within a manufacturing/engineering environment is essential.
- Experience of implementing strategic goals over the short, medium and long-term.
- Ability to foster strong, cross functional relationships and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid interpersonal and leadership skills with evidence of inspiring and developing high quality finance functions which deliver insightful management information.
- Analytical mindset with proven track record of implementing robust financial controls, systems and governance to support a growing SME.

The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
