**The Role of Accounts Assistant**

This role is key in supporting the Business Functions and the Director of Finance and Information through planned growth by utilising their experience to streamline the accounts' payable function and to proactively assist with sales ledger by taking ownership of credit control.

The accounts assistant will focus mainly on the sales ledger and be responsible for raising, processing and managing all sales for the business. This will include ensuring the invoices are posted and raised in a timely fashion, ensuring stock / parts are reconciled and managed accordingly, and reconciling customer statements. In addition, the role will be supporting the Management Accountant and wider team by posting expenses, journals and assisting the wider business where requested.

**Required skills/ knowledge**:
**Responsibilities to include**:

- Ownership of the Accounts Receivable process from sales order to invoice posting.
- Customer statement reconciliations and rectification of discrepancies
- Customer Credit Checks
- Raise Credit Notes
- Posting of Journals & Expenses where requested
- Management of petty cash and business expenses
- Working closely with individuals across the business at all levels
- Petty cash (EUR/GBP) management
- Manage company cards
- Monthly & Quarterly submission of invoices
- Completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information and administrative support to the office team
- Any other duties compatible with the knowledge and responsibility of the post
- Admin / Other: support and supervise business users with PO and Sage software
- Assist with the management of shared inboxes and finance queries
- Maintain Fuel Sales spreadsheet log

**Required skills**
- Analytical approach and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience using SAGE essential.
- Good/Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload and work to strict deadlines
