We have an exciting opportunity for a Purchaser to join our growing team to oversee the management of procurement and stock control in all areas of our Farm Shop, Cafe & Soft Play. This role requires someone who is detailed, commercial but can also communicate with the team and suppliers effectively.

We are a thriving 40 year old local business that is currently going through a phase of growth, building a brand new premises with a Farm Shop, Restaurant, and Play Barn.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage ordering/reordering of products and ensure that deliveries are checked
- Chase any discrepancies to obtain credit
- use the epos system to raise purchase orders.
- Manage product availability and organise orders by checking shelf availability and using systems to effectively manage stock levels.
- Closely monitor and manage fresh short-dated lines. Ensure we manage orders to make sure the warehouse runs smoothly.
- Use Epos system, manage daily ordering/reordering of products, communicating with operational managers/team to ensure availability of products at all times so displays are full.

- Manage stock rotation and ensure all products are sold within their shelf life. Make sure all products have up to date, accurate shelf edge labelling and pricing.
- Manage wastage and react promptly on any recurring issues. Ensure seasonal supplies are negotiated in good time and available for the business when needed
- Ensure that all purchased items meet the required quality standards and specifications that the business requires.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies for the business as a whole.
- Own site stock takes and ensure accurate figures are provided, investigate any stock loss.
- Ensure pricing/product details are up to date.
- Review monthly figures and contribute at meetings.

Skills and Experience:

- Ideally experience in a similar role, or a fresh food-focused environment.
- In-depth knowledge of excel, systems with a very detailed and organised work method
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and team members.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities to assess data, trends, and financial performance.
- Results-driven and able to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
