Ormiston Victory Academy seeks to appoint a non-teaching Head of Year for Pastoral to support the Designated Safeguarding Lead for safeguarding and child protection, assisting the Lead to act as a source of support, advice and expertise for staff within the school for child protection and safeguarding. They would also support a year team with pastoral and attendance issues.

With appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in welfare and safeguarding practice, you will have a track record of working with and supporting vulnerable young people in an educational, youth or social service settings. You must have the ability to communicate with students, and to motivate and support them in their studies.

We are looking for a focused and conscientious individual, with a calm, caring and patient approach who has the relevant skills and ability to:

- De-escalate situations and being able to support students to regulate their emotions
- Conduct restorative conversations
- Form positive relationships, work effectively with other key staff, outside agencies and liaise with parents when necessary
- Undertake training and attend meetings as necessary
