**IPS EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST**

We are a social enterprise and we support vulnerable people so that they can 'Live the life they choose'.

Mostly we support people with mental health, learning disabilities and autism though we do lots of other great things too.

This is a crucial role within our Employment Team. As an IPS Employment Specialist you will be responsible for a case load of individuals with secondary mental health needs. You will support them into paid employment working closely alongside employers and the mental health professionals who support the people on you case load.

**Where?**

You will be based between the Mental Health teams in Bolton and our Rochdale Office and working out in the community.

**Rewards**

The salary for an IPS Employment Specialist is £28,279.68 per annum based on 37 hours per week. We will pay up to an additional 4% of your salary into a pension plan for you, which will grow every year until you retire.

**The hours**

Your contractual hours will be 37

Individual needs come first, and so we need some flexibility when it comes to your working hours. These will be generally Monday to Friday somewhere between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm, but there could be some occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the people you work with.

**What**

You will deliver a high quality, safe and person-centred service, supporting individuals with mental health needs using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of support.

**You will**

Manage a caseload of clients who have mental health support needs, to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences. This will be done following the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model (training will be given) This supports people with Secondary Mental Health needs into employment. You will work in collaboration and foster a close working relationship with the staff within the NHS Mental Health Teams.

It involves intensive individual support, rapid job search followed by placement in paid employment, and in-work support for both the employee and the employer. This role is part based between our Rochdale office and the NHS Mental Health Teams.

**Work with Participants**
- The aim is to support a case load of up to 20 clients to secure and sustain appropriate employment opportunities following the Individual Placement and Support model for which training will be given.
- This follows the competence framework, following IPS Fidelity Principles. These principles are a core value of an IPS service and regular self-assessments and audits will take place to ensure these principles are being met.

3. This is a target driven role in which you will be responsible for and expected to achieve results and achieving targets by securing paid employment outcomes for your clients.

4. You will provide advice and guidance to ensure that your clients works towards achieving paid employment outcomes.

5. You will assess the support needs and aspirations of clients through the use of profiling, enabling you to match them to job opportunities.

6. You will develop and review robust Action Plans to enable the clients to progress towards their goals.

7. You will develop risk assessments for clients with complex needs, some with historical clinical risk.

8. You will assess client’s support needs related to work which may include benefits/welfare advice and disclosure of mental health symptoms.

9. To adhere to any administrative and data capture systems.

10. To record the progress of individuals, and keep accurate and complete records and case notes.

12. To be proficient in IT and keep accurate records through the use of an electronic reporting system and relevant written documentation.

**Working with Mental Health Teams**

1. Attendance at both Clinical and Team meetings within the NHS Mental Health Teams, in order to develop a joint working and holistic approach to the support required.

2. To embed the IPS service within the trust and to deliver presentations at clinical meetings to inform clinical teams about IPS Fidelity.

3. Attendance at IPS specific meetings with complex case presentations and collaborative working with other IPS Specialists.

4. Work is carried out in multidisciplinary teams, liaising with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and other health professionals.

5. Assess and talk to Clients, considering their health needs and discuss the best way to plan and deliver employment support within the team.
