We are excited to announce the opportunity to work with us at Walsall Manor hospital as a delivery suite team leader. The roles is to provide excellent clinical leadership whilst being a role model for maternity embodying our four Trust values at all times.

As one of our team leaders you will be required to co-ordinate the delivery suite whilst taking into account the other departments such as; maternity theatres, ante-natal clinic, triage, fetal assessment unit and our inpatient wards to name but a few.

You should be confident in antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal and the care of the neonate with a specific skill in managing obstetric emergencies.

Your interpersonal skills should be impeccable.

My name is Leanne O'flaherty and I am proud to be the maternity inpatient matron at Walsall Manor Hospital. We are currently hoping to increase our number of Delivery Suite Team Leaders and we are looking for exceptional midwives who can provide strong and supportive clinical leadership to our Delivery Suite and Triage each shift. You should be woman centred and be able to demonstrate a wide range of midwifery expertise and experience within Delivery Suite. You will be committed to service development and enhancing the experience of women and their families.

Act as a Clinical Midwife/leader to ensure the needs of patients are recognised and met by the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
Will also supervise and monitor the care planning process, giving advice,
support and guidance to junior staff.
Act as a point of liaison for multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working in order to achieve the best possible outcome for patient care. Will take appropriate action to remedy any deficiencies in service provision from other agencies.
Provide leadership and distribute any learning to the clinical team from adverse incidents/complaints/claims.
Maintains the Trust’s values, aims and objectives within the clinical setting.
Accountable and responsible for accurate and legible record keeping in
accordance with local policies and NMC guidelines.
Administer Intravenous drugs in accordance with Trust policies.
Attend all mandatory training to ensure practice is safe and credible and
acquire any additional skills that develop as a result of enhanced practice.
Adhere to all clinical Trust policies and procedures
Act as a clinical role model to the team, ensuring all standards of care are
delivered against best practice models and research based evidence.
