Receptionist / Care Navigator

**About the Role**:
Long Melford Medical Practice is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Receptionist/ Care Navigator who will complement our existing team.

We are open to patients between 08.30 am and 18.30 Mondays to Fridays. Our Care Navigation team provides invaluable support to both our clinical team and our patients, responding to queries, answering requests and providing appointments for our patients in a professional and helpful way. We are fortunate to be a dispensing Practice and have a team of dispensers who review and dispense patient requests for medication. We also participate in the training of GPs, nurses, dispensers and other members of the Primary Health Care Team.
- The purpose of the role is to:

- Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
- Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies

- Ideally previous medical / healthcare receptionist experience
- You will have excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner.
- You will work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
- You will have experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- You will be confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently.
- Strong IT and administration skills.

Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

We currently have 3 partners and 4 salaried GPs. We are well supported by a team of nurses, HCA’s and other Allied Health Professionals.
