**Climate Policy and Programmes Team Leader**
Eden Brown Synergy is currently working in partnership with a Public Sector Organisation in Oxfordshire which is looking to recruit a Climate Policy and Programmes Team Leader on a permanent basis. The post holder will manage a team of specialists and contractors to ensure the organisation has a strong suite of coherent policy, strategy and evidence to deliver sustainable new development, reduce existing emissions and support communities to be resilient to a changing climate. The team is also responsible for the delivery of strategic projects that support the objectives of the organisation's sustainability strategies. This is an exciting time to join an organisation which has put Climate Action at the heart of its corporate agenda.
**The role**:
- Provide expert support into the development of policy and strategy across the organisation.
- Ensure the organisation has KPIs, evidence and data to support reporting on progress on climate mitigation and adaptation in the region and can meet climate targets and UK100 commitments.
- Work with the Partnership and Programme Manager to deliver relevant parts of the Service Plan, and specific projects as identified in the annual climate action delivery plan or via partnerships.
- Develop systems to ensure the organisation stays up to date with national policy changes and develops strong response to appropriate consultations.
- Develop a strong project management framework and culture to take forward workstreams supporting our climate resilience and mitigation activities.
- Develop prioritised work plans for the team to meet internal and external needs.
- Act as an escalation point in relation to queries or issues that cannot be resolved by team members.
- Lead, inspire and motivate the direct team, through the efficient and effective management of services, staff and resources.
- Undertake any HR processes within the team, including onboarding and induction, one to one meetings, and investigations.
- Build and promote relationships across the organisation, its Suppliers and other Partners while delivering effective and consistent services, which represent value for money.
- Engage with staff and stakeholders to shape and agree priorities and objectives in line with the service plan and relevant corporate policies and external legislation.
**Experience & Qualifications Required**:
- Professional experience performing a managerial or supervisory role.
- Expert knowledge developing climate mitigation and adaptation policy particularly, but not exclusively, in the planning system, built environment and transport.
- Demonstrable experience of developing a strong culture of project management to ensure definition and delivery of outcomes.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports using data, insight and performance measures.
This is a permanent role paying between £45,495.00 and £48,587.00 per annum. The role will be hybrid, with a minimum of 1 day per week spent on site (Wednesdays).
