We are on the lookout for a dynamic, enthusiastic & customer-oriented individual to join our Front of House team

As a Front of House Team member, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and memorable experience for our valued customers whatever the reason for their visit.

This role requires Initiative, the ability to adapt & work brilliantly within a team, the desire to learn & develop new skills & be flexible where possible in line with the needs of the business.

We have a box-office/reception desk, café bar, all sharing space in our main foyer with each customer being as important as the next. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding service in all these areas.

General Responsibilities will include:

- Warmly greet & welcome customers, creating a friendly & inviting atmosphere.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering enquiries, face to face or by phone, offering product information & guiding customers to their desired destination.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization ensuring a visually appealing environment for our customers. This will include clearing tables inside & out, keeping the kitchen, bar & all areas clean & clear of mess & rubbish.
- Learn & maintain a good working knowledge of how to access information either through our ticketing system, online diaries, or website that customers may want & answer all enquiries as fully as possible.
- Serve in the café, Bar or Box Office when needed, this could include heating / serving light bites / coffees, cakes & pastries as well as a variety of alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, upselling other products or promotions.
- Cash & Card handling on our EPOS system including end of day cash ups and accurate record keeping alongside telephone, card & Cash payments in our Box Office.
- Checking, accepting, signing for deliveries, ensuring that these are put away promptly and correctly.
- participate in meetings, training & formal performance appraisals as required.
- Record working hours as instructed.
- Work in line with the policies & procedures of the Cheese & Grain and Grain Hospitality including Health & Safety, Data Protection & Safeguarding.
- Take part in opening or close-down procedures.
- Help monitor public activity in the building, report & record any inappropriate behaviour without putting yourself or colleagues at risk.
- Undertake any such work as reasonably required by your line manager or shift manager.
- Be flexible in your approach to help cover absences, holidays & busy events.

Uniform will be provided where necessary.

You will have the long-term, overall guidance and support from a named line manager who will be responsible for your on-going training and appraisals.

While the C&G is a not-for-profit social enterprise, registered as a charity, trading income is essential to its sustainability.

All workers are expected to work towards the improvement of trading outcomes and continued sales while contributing to sustaining sensible controls on costs.
