**The Opportunity**

We now have a great opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join our small team of shore side marine management based at our Kendalls site in Portsmouth.

Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for all technical matters on board the assigned vessels ensuring that company policies and procedures including requirements of Flag State, Class and other applicable regulations are effectively implemented, in order to contribute to safe, compliant and cost-effective operation.

You’ll effectively maintain and improve the Planned Maintenance System and Defect Management System including Technical Spare and Inventory Management.

Additionally you’ll help keep vessel downtime to a minimum and cost aligned with budgets by preparing repair and maintenance specifications.

You’ll manage the full project of planning, executing and completing refit/drydock in a timely manner.

There will also be audits and inspections to perform as well as the producing of technical reports.

**Who you are**

You’ll be a certified engineer with a marine background as either a Chief or Second engineer and looking to continue or develop your shore-based career.

You’ll have a technical background, and be able to provide guidance and instructions to technical issues.

You’ll already have an extensive knowledge of the technical management of vessel including dry docking experience, the ISM Code and other marine legislations.

You’ll need to be adaptable as well made plans could need to be adjusted with short notice due to requirements.

You’ll be a confident leader, who looks to continuously drive improvement of their team.

You will provide effective leadership to the crew, particularly to Engineer Officers, motivating them to continually improve their performance and safety culture on board the vessel.

You’ll also deputise for the DPA when they are unavailable.
