The key responsibility of this role is the planning and execution of events, ensuring that the service that the guest receives is of the highest quality from start to finish. The role holder will develop a team of conference and banqueting staff that will be able to consistently deliver high quality events for our guests.

**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Revenue Manager to ensure that all conference and event packages are clearly presented and the pricing and menu content are clear for our guests.
- Ensure that guest enquiries are responded to promptly, efficiently and professionally with clear details of our availability and offering.
- Ensure that SOP’s are up to date for event planning and operations.
- Deliver high quality, consistent training to all conference and events staff, where the SOP’s are clearly presented and explained to the staff.
- Ensure all staff are presentable and are in correct work uniform in line with company policy.
- Complete weekly rotas for conference and events, ensuring all events are staffed correctly and in line with budgets.
- Develop an “upselling” culture within the conference and banqueting team to help maximise sales.
- Work closely with Executive Chef to ensure that clear plans are in place for functions and that the kitchen and front of house team work together to deliver the best guest experience.
- Build relationships with customers to ensure repeat conference and event business.
- Ensure function sheets are clear with all relevant information included.
- When conference rooms are out of use, ensure that cost saving procedures are followed.
- Ensure bar staff keep beverage wastage to a minimum and that any wastage is recorded as per company policy.
- Keep a clear inventory of all conference and banqueting equipment and request additional equipment well in advance to allow time for ordering and delivery.
