**Role Description**:
The post holder will have responsibility for managing lunch time supervision and the provision of late stay care for children in the Junior School.

**Main Responsibilities**:
**Lunchtime Supervisor**:

- To liaise with teaching, administrative, catering and nursing staff over pupil issues and the management of the playground
- To supervise the pupils in the playground during their lunch break, or in their classrooms in the event of bad weather
- To organise the continuous flow of pupils from playground/classrooms into the Junior School Hall for lunch
- To supervise the clearing away of play equipment and the return of lost property
- To ensure that the playground is a safe and secure environment for the pupils and to report anything of concern to the Head of Junior School
- To administer First Aid, as required

**Administrative**:

- To carry out administrative duties between the end of lunch break and start of Late Stay, as required by the Junior School Office Manager
- To supervise pupils in an emergency and to escort/accompany pupils to other Foundation sites, as required
- To undertake training courses, both in and out of school, appropriate to the post

**Late Stay Supervisor**:

- In liaison with the Head of Junior School and Junior School staff, be responsible for the safety of pupils on the Junior School site during the hours of 3.30pm-6.00pm
- To liaise with Junior School staff, parents and carers to ensure the safety of all pupils using the Late Stay facility until they have been collected
- To organise the escorting of pupils from Late Stay to Foundation transport in various locations near school and at various times
- To keep an accurate record of names of pupils in Late Stay and time of departure, to use this record to calculate weekly hours and costs in an Excel spreadsheet and to forward these to the Accounts Office for accounting purposes at the end of each half term
- To administer First Aid, as required
- To supervise the pupils in the playground during the first half hour of Late Stay
- To establish and maintain a calm, happy, purposeful atmosphere in the Late Stay classrooms
- To encourage pupils to complete homework assignments and to assist as required
- To interact with pupils and organise activities for those who have completed their homework
- To replenish Late Stay resources as required
- To ensure Health and Safety procedures between the hours of 3.30pm and 6.00pm are effective and up to date

**Support for the school**
- Develop and maintain effective communication with parents
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment
- Attend and actively contribute to staff training

**General Responsibilities**
- Act as an excellent ambassador for the Foundation at all times.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all Foundation colleagues.
- Assist as necessary in other Foundation areas at peak times.
- Work at all times towards the aims and goals of the Foundation and any individual objectives and targets you may have agreed.
- Proactively identify areas for improvements within the Foundation.
- Actively promote the Foundation’s Equal Opportunities Policy, encouraging staff awareness and participation in all areas.
- Act in accordance with the Data Protection principles at all times.
- Adhere at all times to Foundation operational and employment policies and procedures.
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
- Cooperate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Follow the training you have received when using any work items the Foundation has provided.
- Adhere to the Foundation’s Privacy Notice and ensure private and confidential data is kept secure and disposed of in the appropriate manner.
