The CRUK Scotland Centre is a world leading cancer research institute, situated in Glasgow (formerly known as CRUK Beatson Institute). Approximately 250 researchers split across 30 research groups, consisting of PIs, postdoctoral scientists, PhD students and scientific officers, drive cutting-edge research into the molecular mechanisms of cancer development. As well as core support from Cancer Research UK, the Institute also receives an additional third of its total income from external grants and industry collaborations. It has an excellent reputation for fundamental cancer research, including world-class metabolism studies and renowned in vivo modelling of tumour growth and metastasis. Its research ethos is about excellence, honesty, openness, accountability, and integrity.

We currently have a vacancy for a **Finance Officer/Trainee **to work as part of a small team to process, pay and reconcile all transactions and paperwork for our purchase ledger operation and banking.

The main duties of the role include:

- ensuring that all purchase ledger transactions related to suppliers are processed, maintained and kept up to date throughout the year within acceptable and known timescales
- ensuring all banking transactions are posted accurately and that bank reconciliations are performed over the first couple of days of the month in time for month end closures
- communicating clearly and effectively over purchase ledger responsibilities on an ongoing basis with team members and other stakeholders

You will also have responsibility for actioning Purchase Orders, processing expenses and reporting on budgets and financial transactions to groups within the Institute.
