**About the role**:
We are looking for our next Financial Controller for National Grid Ventures.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a key a leadership role with direct responsibility for NGV Financial Control (including technical accounting, statutory accounts, Group reporting and risk and controls), Financial Planning and Analysis (including Strategic Business Planning, Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecast, and management reporting) and a dotted line into the NGV CFO supporting on key strategic priorities.

You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of c.30 Finance SMEs across the UK (Solihull and Warwick) and the US (Boston, New York and Minneapolis).

You will also be a core member of both the Group Financial Control and NGV Finance Leadership Teams; working closely with the Group Financial Controller, NGV CFO and NGV Exec to deliver a top-quality financial service.

The role is a FT, permanent position and can be based in National Grid House, Warwick or Strand, London. We operate a Hybrid Working approach with a mix of home and office working to suit the needs of the business and our employees, using technology to ensure we always feel connected.

**Key Accountabilities**:
The key accountabilities of this role include:
**Financial Reporting**: Leading a team of 15 responsible for technical accounting, the delivery of Group reporting products to support the Group ARA, management of external audit relationship, satisfactory signing off of local audits and delivery of statutory accounts of 18 UK statutory entities.

**Risks Controls and Compliance**: Responsible for ensuring strong control environment to eliminate risk of material misstatement, chairing the NGV Finance Risk committee, and having oversight of the design and execution of all SOX controls.

**Financial Planning and Analysis**: Leading a team of 7 responsible for analysing, understanding and forecasting NGV results including delivery of the NGV Strategic Business Plan, Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts, and Monthly Business Reviews.

**National Grid Partners**:In addition to working with NGV you will also have responsibility as Financial Controller for National Grid’s venture capital arm, NGP. This includes sitting on the Venture Capital Valuation Committee.

**Deputy NGV CFO**:Deputise for the NGV CFO in forums including All Hands calls, NGV Risk Committee, Global CFO meetings and NGV Exec as well as taking a leadership role in the NGV finance team including leading team meetings.

**Group Financial Control strategic projects**: Taking a leading role on GFC strategic projects where needed.

**NGV other priorities**: This role will also lead NGV Finance-wide projects and priorities as they arise.

**Development**: you will be responsible for recruiting a highly motivated, capable, and adequately resourced team, developing talent and a performance management culture that drives value through engagement and successfully meets/exceeds all relevant targets and strategic objectives.
