We are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. **Role Purpose**:
To support Hovis to deliver on its vision of achieving the best quality product every day, enabling growth in a sustainable way and creating superior value for its stakeholders. The Health and Safety Advisor, will ensure that all agreed targets and activities are achieved in a timely manner which keeps the site compliant. You will be responsible for providing an unbiased and transparent auditing function for the
site/company. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of sustainable HS&E management programmes and provide the strategic architecture for HSE that will ensure statutory accountability.

**Knowledge, Skills, Requirements and Experience -**

Essential:

- Ability to influence effectively and present at all business levels.
- Demonstrable track record of success/achievements.
- Knowledge and experience in accident prevention programme implementation.
- Working towards being able to design and conduct H&S based training for groups of people.
- Proven experience of supporting HSE activity to deliver site strategy.
- Working towards NEBOSH general certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Working towards IOSH Managing Safety qualifications.
- Developing knowledge and experience of complex risk areas DSEAR,PUWER,LOLER.
- Exceptional verbal and numerate skills.
- Proven competence with IT systems.

Desirable:

- Experience of working in an unionised environment.
- Lead Auditor.
- IEMA Certification.
- Working towards NEBOSH Diploma or recognised equivalent in Occupational Health
- & Safety.
