**Our Opportunity**

We have a really exciting opportunity in Thales Optronics and Missile Electronics for a Head of Bid and Programme Management to join the team.

You will be responsible for providing functional leadership to the Bid and Project Management (B&PM) team across (Optronics and Missile Electronics) OME within Thales UK - Land and Air Systems.

You will lead a team of around 80 people ensuring best practice is applied to B&PM with regard to the development of people, processes and tools, enabling successful delivery of current/future business.

**Some of the Key Responsibilities and Tasks**:

- Ensure the Business has robust Project governance across the full lifecycle.
- Drive improvements across all stages of the Bid & Delivery phases, increasing our competitiveness.
- Be accountable on a functional basis for the delivery of successful Bids and Projects for our customers.
- Provide overarching functional leadership to the OME Bid and Project Management team (relating to people, process and tools).
- Drive the Strategic Capability Planning for Bid and Programme Management, ensuring that we are ready for today and fit for tomorrow.
- Providing robust leadership, coaching and mentoring to enhance capability across the project management community.
- Create an environment of bid and project management knowledge share throughout the business, including TUK, BL, GBU.
- Evaluate project delivery strategies playing a lead role in assessing and mitigating risk while maximising opportunity.

**About You:

You will have significant experience within Bid and Programme Management with the following:

- The ability to lead the OME B&PM management community.
- The ability to develop effective strategies to ensure the deployment of effective interventions for the provision of an excellent OME B&PM capability.
- The ability to form effective working relationships across the country and Group B&PM communities.
- Excellence interpersonal and verbal communication skills with written presentation and report writing skills.
- Experience of leading a function in a complex business-management context.
- Extensive knowledge of the full business lifecycle management, including capture and qualification.
- Evidence of the ability to provide coaching and development for managers and future leaders.
- Extensive stakeholder management capability.
