We have an exciting opportunity as a Head of Design within our clothing division

This high-profile and critical role envisions the future of the Clothing Customer Proposition, by determining and delivering a Design Strategy that keeps Tu clothing relevant for all its customers. You will be the gatekeeper of the Tu Brand handwriting and have full accountability for delivery of all trend and product development, including its execution into physical stores. You will be passionate with delivering product to surprise, leading and motivating our design team and delight and exceed our customers’ expectations, ensuring a consistent approach in all our channels.

**What you need to do**
- Accountable for development and delivery of Design strategy within the Clothing Product Strategy.
- Own Macro and Category Trend direction for Clothing, delivering a vision which drives future innovation and competitive advantage.
- Cross-functional working & stakeholder engagement across Clothing to execute strategy across channels, partnering with Buying, Merchandising, Digital, Marketing, PR & Retail.
- Responsible for Seasonal Strategic Direction with Head Of Buying & Head of Merchandising.
- Accountable for Range Sign off with C6 Buying & C6 Merch Manager.
- Partner with Buying Manager to approve product direction, look & feel at Creative / Range Framework Meetings.
- Propose outfits for POS campaign & PR Lookbook and partner with Marketing & PR to agree styling.
- Lead the Global Design team to design commercial, competitive and innovative product to the required quality and technical standards, using creativity and effective translation of customer needs into deliverable product attributes.

Lead the Visual Communications team to execute the product vision in physical stores.

**What you need to know & show**
- Demonstrable experience working across multiple retail sectors and/or retail models, ideally with specialist experience in the Clothing, Jewellery & Watches markets.
- In-depth understanding of the broader UK market, constantly open to seeking new opportunities that create competitive advantage, as well as having an understanding of International retail dynamics that influence UK customer behaviour.
- Strong commercial awareness built in a trading retail environment.
- Experience in product design and development in a retail industry with relevant technical knowledge for Clothing and an extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and working with suppliers, including product and cost engineering.
- Computer literate with the ability to use Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to a high standard.
- Develop and maintain strong senior relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, socialising the category plan to gain buy-in and support across the business.
- Role model positive and agile ways of working with all areas of the business; facilitating an environment that delivers at pace and iterates from learning.
- A strategic thinker, who puts the customer at the heart of decision-making, striking the balance between driving business metrics & longer-term objectives, based on optimising the balance of data, multiple perspectives and own intuition.

- In conjunction with Buying and Merchandise Manager, sign off on all elements of the seasonal range builds in line with the Divisional strategy.
