**The Role**: Purchasing Assistant

**The Hours**: Mon to Thurs 8.45am to 5.30pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch // Fri 8.45am to 5pm

**Location**:Ashington - Must be able to drive

**Salary**: £25,000 - £27,000

My client is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Purchasing experience with a wealth of knowledge in their field.

**Job specification**
- Liaison with Sales Account Managers regarding enquiries, meeting customers’ demands and SLAs.
- The timely and accurate creation of purchase orders communicating delivery dates, prices, and special delivery requirements to the suppliers.
- Stock analysis and purchasing
- To relay all purchase order information and/or changes to the relevant Sales Account Managers/affected departments, alongside inputting updates into our system(s)
- Liaison with Goods In/Ops for all incoming deliveries
- Ethical negotiation with suppliers on prices, lead times and for new suppliers, payment terms and account limits.
- Be a point of escalation for queries or issues relating to supplier performance.
- Be a point of contact to resolve invoice queries.
- You would need to be adaptable as we liaise with a wide range of people - colleagues, customers, and suppliers alike.
- Clear communication, internally and externally, is critical to the fluidity of all business operations so you must be a strong communicator.
- You would work as part of a close team, but most tasks tend to be carried out singularly so you must have confidence to work alone and take pride in the work you do.
- This is a dynamic role; every day will bring a new challenge. You would need to be quite forward thinking, be able challenge within the parameters and think outside of the box.
- Forward thinking and creativity are an ideal combination to face any challenge and hopefully overcome any issues that might arise, prevention is key, so we encourage and welcome all ideas that promote efficiency.
- Most tasks are time critical so organisation, the ability to prioritise your workload and capability to work under pressure is vital.
